Hepatitis Delta Virus–Host Protein Interactions: From Entry to Egress
نویسندگان
چکیده
Hepatitis delta virus (HDV) is the smallest known human and causes most severe form of viral hepatitis, yet it still not fully understood how replicates interacts with many host proteins during replication. This review aims to provide a systematic all factors currently interact HDV their mechanistic involvement in steps replication cycle. Finally, we discuss implications for therapeutic development based on our current knowledge HDV–host protein interactions.

Hepatitis Delta Virus: HDV-HBV Interactions
The hepatitis delta virus (HDV) is a subviral agent that utilizes the envelope proteins of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) for cell to cell propagation. In infected human hepatocytes, the HDV RNA genome can replicate and associate with multiple copies of the delta protein to assemble a ribonucleoprotein (RNP). However the RNP cannot exit the cell because of the lack of an export system. This is pro...
متن کاملInteractions between hepatitis delta virus proteins.
The 195- and 214-amino-acid (aa) forms of the delta protein (deltaAg-S and deltaAg-L, respectively) of hepatitis delta virus (HDV) differ only in the 19-aa C-terminal extension unique to deltaAg-L. deltaAg-S is needed for genome replication, while deltaAg-L is needed for particle assembly. These proteins share a region at aa 12 to 60, which mediates protein-protein interactions essential for HD...
متن کاملInfluenza A Virus M2 Protein: Roles from Ingress to Egress
Influenza A virus (IAV) matrix protein 2 (M2) is among the smallest bona fide, hence extensively studied, ion channel proteins. The M2 ion channel activity is not only essential for virus replication, but also involved in modulation of cellular homeostasis in a variety of ways. It is also the target for ion channel inhibitors, i.e., anti-influenza drugs. Thus far, several studies have been cond...

do not know whether it is due to the effects of toxic compounds or whether it is a genetic association. Whether dietary manipulation will affect the development of obstructive cardiomyopathy remains to be seen; if it does, diagnosis would need to be made early in life. Whatever the aetiology of the cardiomyopathy, the association with tyrosinaemia suggests that caution should be expressed in co...
متن کاملDoes protein phosphorylation govern host cell entry and egress by the Apicomplexa?
Members of the phylum Apicomplexa are responsible for a wide range of diseases in humans and animals. The absence of an effective vaccine or safe curing drugs and the continuous emergence of resistant parasites to available treatments impose a high demand on the identification of novel targets for intervention against the apicomplexans. Protein kinases are considered attractive potential therap...
